Chris Bournea (pronounced bor-NAY) has been a writer for The Ohio State University Office of Communications since September 2021.

Before that, he spent two decades as a newspaper reporter for publications such as the Call and Post, the Daily Reporter and ThisWeek News. He reported on a wide range of stories, from developments in municipal governments and suburban school districts in Central Ohio to covering red-carpet events such as the Billboard Awards in Las Vegas and the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles.

A Columbus native, Chris enjoys traveling and has visited Senegal, France, Costa Rica and numerous other countries. He takes a weekly online Spanish lesson with a tutor in Guatemala, with the goal of becoming bilingual to facilitate his world travels.
